Plans

Yours truly is going to be traveling the second half of August — I’ve got places to go, Sweeties to see — all six at once for the first time in fact. I’ve decided to take that time off from here.

I will still be posting the rest of this week.

When I resume in September I’m considering starting over with a new blog and maybe even a new name. No doubt the same old stuff, but maybe a new feel and look (and a faster loading home page).

Will you still love me even if I get a makeover?

  1. Absolutely. Yours and Garrett’s are two of my favorite blogs, and not just because you happen to be in my favorite state.

  2. Have to admit that I love the name. But if you send the URL, I guess I could update my bookmarks!

  3. We will still need you,
    We will still feed you,
    When you’re sixty-four!

    ….
    Grandchildren on your knee:
    Aidan, Mack, and Reid.

  4. Talk about the dogs days of summer. Yeah, I suppose you can go. But you must, MUST promise to return in some form or another.

  5. Oh, puh-lease. I love you as you are, I rarely comment, but I do get tired of the regular “Nobody loves me, I’m gonna take my blog and go home posts.” I, for one, will not follow you to another blog or blog name. The drama, it destroys your charm.

  6. A valid complaint, Christy, but here’s the way I look at it. I could take Zoloft, Effexor, Wellbutrin, Prozac, Paxil or Celexa and you could have a nice even but dull blog. Or I can be the way I am and occasionally get depressed and want to quit — or actually do quit. And then you all can tell me how much you like the blog. (I am needy that way; it’s the price of admission.)

But, also to clarify, it’s my blog and time for a change. You guys are great, but not so many as before. The database is choking. The look is stale. A two week break for personal reasons seemed like the ideal time to consider making a major change. Telling you all I contemplated the change — no doubt more attention seeking — was just a choice I made.

  7. I wonder how interesting or inspiring Van Gogh’s paintings would have been if he had been on Zoloft, Effexor, Wellbutrin, Prozac, Paxil or Celexa.
