In the days leading up to the invasion of Iraq I had the crazy idea of shutting down 3 or 4 spots on selected interstate highways across the country for 30 minute at a time as a highly visible, non-violent protest. I am thinking it might be time to resurrect the idea in support of Occupy Wall St. Protestors with signs could be posted several miles up the road warning of the stopped traffic ahead and asking drivers to think about why we gave money to banks instead of to people who couldn’t pay their mortgages because they couldn’t find a job.
