  1. Aw, c’mon. You can’t expect us to be satisfied with THAT after jonesin’ for a week. Don’t be a scrooge.

  2. Through December 10th I’d posted on 293 of 344 days in 2010. I don’t think taking three weeks away during the holidays is a sign of any big character flaw. 😉

[Of 51 days missed, 13 were in August while traveling with Sweeties, 10 were in May while visiting Sweeties, and 10 more were in January-February while traveling and visiting The Sweeties. Last week I was with three of The Sweeties in Florida.

Last year, despite “quitting” for six weeks, I posted on 274 days. 317 in 2008.

  3. A person could eat, say, 233 out of 344 days and be perfectly healthy, as long as the fasting days were evenly spaced through the time period. However, asking that same person to go 111 days straight without food would kill the person.

So, in other words, it’s nice that you post often. We like that. But when you bunch your non-post days all up in a row like this…well, we’re starving, man.

    1. From what I saw at Disney World last week a lot — a lot — of Americans are eating 344 days out of 233.

      1. Luckily, they sell handy little motorized scooters, so when you get so fat that you can’t walk, you can still enjoy the Most Magical Place on Earth.

  4. Clearly, NMK fans, the Sweeties are the problem!

Just teasing, Ken…. I’m the one who left a decent job and a beautiful property behind and moved 1200 miles to be closer to my Sweeties.

  5. Enjoy your vacation time and the Sweeties. I am jealous that you have been at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Lucky!

    1. Actually I don’t expect to see any of The Sweeties for the next few weeks, but I sure do enjoy them when I do.

I haven’t really decided what I think about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It’s certainly attractively done – Hogwarts is magnificent, though I didn’t really care for the virtual reality ride. The town is nicely done, too. Not sure, maybe I was expecting Dementors or something. There were too many Muggles, that’s for sure.

Very excited to have seen it though. And Walt Disney World, where I’d never been. And with half The Sweeties no less.

      1. And what were your thoughts on Disney World? If nothing else, I find the people-watching there to be top-notch.

  6. I’ve been to Disneyland many, many times over the past 40 years, most recently just three years ago. Walt Disney World is the same, yet it isn’t, spread out as it is over four parks (though Disneyland is now two). I liked Animal Kingdom of a lot. I didn’t see the appeal of Epcot as much as I’d always heard, though it was particularly cold that day. We did get to Epcot before they dropped the rope and stayed through the fireworks (which were amazing).

People watching is indeed remarkable at Disney World — and much more so than at Universal Studios 10 miles away for some reason. Like the state fair, going to Disneyland can make you forget all the dysfunction in your own family and conclude you’re royalty compared to most people. And MUCH smaller than most people (there were a lot of refugees from the Golden Corral all-you-can-eat buffet at Disney World).
