There really is no problem here. Though the object, cake, exists as a discrete and finite unit, the act of consumption takes place in time, which is a continuum. There was never any question that the cake would be eaten, only when. Since the when already exists on the continuum the cake is at some point already eaten. Hope it was tasty.
