The husband has been excited all evening about the reader functionality. This works if you are reading a multipage article online (like a NYT article across five pages and you have to click the “next page” at the bottom of each page) it will aggregate the text all into one page with no graphics or ads. Much easier for reading!
I haven’t downloaded the new Safari yet, but it sounds like improvements. Evidently you can select Google, Yahoo or Bing as your search engine of choice, too.
The Reader function is very, very nice — and you can email from it too, so that you can email the text without all the overhead.
