I just drove I40 today and it was 70/65.
I’m wondering how exactly you took this picture when you were driving 80? Actually, maybe I don’t want to know.
The photo was taken on I-10 between Sonora and Fort Stockton, Texas.
Yeah, that I-10 stretch through west TX is desolate, but at least you only have to look at it through an 85MPH blur. Although I actually got a written warning (not a ticket, since he clocked me literally within yards of entering the freeway from a rest stop, and I was more than willing to fight that one) near Sonora/Ozona once. The only trooper I’ve ever seen out there.
I saw more state troopers in Virginia, especially southern Virginia, then in the other dozen states I was just in — combined.
