Here’s what you will find right now (9:00 am MT) at the online Apple Store.
The online Apple Store is closed for the morning so they can keep all the new goodies secret. Apple CEO Steve Jobs will introduce the new products in his keynote address beginning today at 10:00 MT. Last year it was the iPhone. Two years ago it was the intel chips and iLife. Three years ago the iPod shuffle and Mac Mini. What will it be today?
It’s like Christmas morning for us Apple aficionados.
The new Macbook Air looks pretty awesome, and, of course, far out of my price range. Time to plop down some cash on a memory upgrade for my Macbook, I suppose.
Still, I can dream of that light, thin laptop with the optional solid state drive (only $1,000!) and how quiet, cool, and power-efficient it would be.
$1799 for the basic model isn’t bad. It’s 0.16 to 0.76 inches thick and weighs less than three pounds. 13-inch screen. 80GB HD. Most of the computer is the battery!
The alternative solid state drive price will come down. 64GB is state of the art now.
I sort of felt “much ado about nothing” about this morning’s Keynote. Tho it is hard to top last year with the hullabaloo about the iPhone.
I’m going to MacWorld on Thursday and looking forward to seeing all the accessories for the phone. The new MacBook looks good. I was considering getting a black MacBook but now I don’t know……….
Stock price is crap today, tho. Damn Citibank.
All stock prices were crap today Karen, but yes Apple lost 5-1/2 percent to $169.04.
The keynote was exactly like Christmas morning — “Is that all there is?”
That video is funny: all the electronic devices available from Apple, and they just read a book and get bored?
Karen gives her MacWorld Report at Oh Fair New Mexico.
