The Characters & People page of the Adams Museum & House web site has the story on some of Deadwood’s real-life characters. The Gem’s Al Swearengen, Dan Dority and Johnny Burns were real, as were E.B. Farnum, Charlie Utter, Seth Bullock, Sol Star and Tricksie.
