Once again the car rental place has messed up my reservation.

There is a reason why they call the area at the top of Sandia Crest the “Electric Forest.”

The Sandias are always more dramatic looking down from the Crest than they appear from Albuquerque looking up. Photo taken at 10,678 feet above sea level.

It’s still winter today near the top of the Sandia Mountains.

Ah, snow, never so pretty as when it’s freshly fallen. Emily sent this photo of the glacier at the end of her driveway — about seven feet high.

The Sweeties in Virginia still haven’t gone back to school — their last school day was February 4th. Emily took this photo of her neighborhood the day before the Super Bowl — and there have been two snowstorms since.

The snow has stopped (yesterday after 31 hours). The sun has come out. It’s beautiful.

So much for the cookout on Jill’s deck today.

Two hours later — and it’s still coming down.

Jill took this photo at Longues sur Mer in November. The German 150-mm guns fired on Allied landing forces on D-Day but were quickly disabled by British naval fire.
