But before today’s games.
LSU is undefeated.
Alabama lost only to LSU 9-6 in OT.
Oregon lost only to LSU 40-27 in first game of season.
Arkansas lost only to #3 Alabama 38-14.
Stanford lost only to #4 Oregon 53-30.
Virginia Tech lost only to #7 Clemson.
Clemson, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Boise State all lost to an unranked team.
Houston is undefeated.
Everybody else has lost at least twice.
How would you seed the playoffs?
Are we talking an 8 team play-off or a 16? I would much prefer a 16, but I don’t get a vote (How un-american!). If it is only an 8 team play-off my seeds would be”
LSU and Alabama as 0nes
Oregon and Arkansas as Twos
Stanford and Virginia Tech as Threes
BSU and Houston as Fours
I know that this leaves out six to eight good teams, but what can I say, it’s only fantasy anyway, A 16 team play-off would be way more fun and fair.
OK. I know absolutely nothing about college football playoffs, except that I think smart people agree there should be a playoff. But watching the Arkansas v. Miss. game today, I heard a lot of talk about BCS and style points.
WTF are style points, and how in the world do they help determine the post-season?
Boy, what a difference a day makes, huh? From here it looks like a lock for an LSU/Alabama re-match. I won’t be watching.
Avelino, I think style points have something to do with the ability of a team to put butts in seats at exorbitant prices. After all, it is all about the money, you know.
Perhaps Arkansas will defeat LSU. Then Alabama will have lost to LSU, Arkansas will have lost to Alabama and LSU will have lost to Arkansas. Which two of the three will get to play again for the “national” championship?
My first response was, “Who cares!”. The thought of any of those three playing each other, AGAIN, makes my stomach crawl. HOW LONG, OH LORD? HOW LONG MUST WE SUFFER WITHOUT A PLAYOFF SYSTEM!?
