I received mail on just three days this week, and that just six ads, nothing I wanted.
If the volume of mail has dwindled, and it has, and if the Postal Service is in financial trouble, and it is, why not cut back delivery to four or three or even two days a week?
Would anyone be upset if the mail only came every other day?
The thousands of mail carriers who depend on the full time income might mind. Of course, if the USPS tanks, they’ll be looking for other work anyway. I sometimes depend on mail arriving within a day or two when I send it, without the extra cost of overnight postage. I suppose I could adjust, if that’s what it takes, but no less than 4 days a week, I think.
No, I wouldn’t mind. I only check the mailbox every other day anyway.
My only issue would be, if the mail came irregularly I’d forget to go look for it.
No, it seems like a perfect solution to me.
Good idea! Every two or three days would be fine with me. And, while we’re at it, increase the price of postage for catalogs and junk mail. Every day, I get catalogs and junk mail that I don’t want, didn’t ask for, and then need to recycle.
