Penn Jilette writes a brief, amusing, provocative look at friendship, God and government.
Read it. It isn’t about agreeing with what he writes. It’s about thinking about what he says.
Jillette’s new book is God, No!: Signs You May Already Be an Atheist and Other Magical Tales.
I always enjoy reading Jillette even when he gets things wrong. He does stick to the Libertarian he’d line and it is interesting to see that line intersect the middle of both left wing and right wing wish lists. Penn is at least in favor of no one paying taxes under the theory that the collective mind of government is not going to spend it wisely. The republicans feel only the poor and middle class should pay taxes because the rich use any extra money to “create jobs”
“hard line”
Damn auto correct
I bought and read the book yesterday. Funny, outrageous, colorful, sentimental. While he has plenty to say about his beliefs, it is not an atheist screed. More of an episodic memoir.
He and Teller have known each other since high school.
