By contrast Jimmy Carter was a tower of strength when he was president.

OK…..that’s it. I have mostly enjoyed your blog posts for the last year or so until the last few days.
I’m deleting you from my Reader as of now. Either you are a right-winger or just stupid. I’m not sure which – but I have no time for you anymore.
Been called a lot of things, but this is a first for “right-winger.”
Indeed, and would that we would have kept to many of his energy initiatives.
Still, as I keep reminding myself, there were no viable alternatives that November back in 2008: it was between an articulate man who spoke to our better nature (and who had yet to finish his first Senate term) and a deeply flawed ex-POW who sometimes showed hints of character only to choose a running mate as venal and shallow as they come.
My wife and family and I actively supported Obama in 2008, and we’ve been waiting for the guy we voted for to show up.
He has caved to the Republicans on so many issues – healthcare, Guantanamo, Wall Street, energy, our foreign adventures, the Bush-era tax cuts – that he’s become a bit of a doormat.
If you look at his policies, he’s not that different than his predecessor.
What was that title of the book on Vietnam? Ah, yes: A Bright, Shining Lie.
Describes the current situation nicely.
Perhaps Sequana will drop back by in 2013 and be more comfortable that I am criticizing the then president, Rick Perry.
To be fair, she said “a right-winger or just stupid.” So she gave you options.
No. If I’d said I wish I’d voted for McCain-Palin, THAT would be stupid. But criticizing the President COULD be right-wing. It isn’t in my case, but it could be construed that way.
Her loss.
For a stupid “right-winger” you sure quote Paul Krugman an awful lot.
Yeah, two in a row even. That’s not good. 😀
I’ve been reading you for at least five years and never got right wing or stupid. But then… I’ve actually been reading your posts. (And enjoy it to the last drop.) 🙂
Thanks Mrs. A and Natalie.
Krugman, BTW, just posted on his blog info re: the 1989 Heritage Foundation healthcare plan. It tracks to the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare). It was once the Republican plan.
Ah the internets! They allow idiots to call bloggers they supposedly read names like stupid and right-winger. Apparently she hasn’t been following your blog. You are definitely not a right-winger or stupid. Jimmy Carter did have some good ideas but he was only human. Not everybody can be Superman unless your name is Ronald. 🙂 You are the first site I visit every day; as you probably know that is around 4:00 am. I don’t comment much but I do miss you when you don’t blog.
