Just went to the Chiricahuas (#20) last Sunday. The amount of green in SE Arizona right now is absolutely stunning. I can’t remember when I’ve seen the desert so lush.
Also, I didn’t realize George Washington Carver (#9) was from Missouri. Because of his work with peanuts, I guess I confused him with another famous peanut farmer, so I was thinking he was from Georgia. (I read his biography once, but it was almost 50 years ago.)
Nice little history lessons in that article. Thanks!
