“A four-term Arizona Senator handily won his primary election last night, and all he had to do was continue to embarrass and debase himself on the national stage.”

Years ago I read something to the effect that Reagan was reelected because he had the alpha waves of a carrot, not in spite of it.
It seems as though that is the case here as well.
When Goldwater’s puppet, Jack Williams (who wore an eye-patch), ousted Sam Goddard as Governor of Arizona in 1968, the saying was: “In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.”
Now I don’t know… between Sen. McCain and Gov. Brewer, should it be: “In the in the land of morons, the idiots reign supreme?” (Or should that be the other way around? I’m not sure which is worse, to be an idiot or a moron.)
Politically speaking, it’s a down-right embarrassment to live in Arizona again after 14 years away. You don’t EVEN want to get me started on how this is officially an “English Only” state. For the unfamiliar: All agencies using state funds are prohibited from printing materials in Spanish (or purchasing materials printed in Spanish), even though it might be health- or education-related materials that would benefit local families, as well as the greater society at large, for them to receive those materials in a language they can understand. If you ask me, we (English speakers) are the ones who invaded another country and refused to learn the language!
