Century mark

It’s 100 degrees this afternoon, just the third time Albuquerque has gotten to triple digits officially since 2003.

It’s the earliest day in the year ever for it to get to 100º here. For crying out loud, it’s even 99º in Santa Fe.

How bad is it? Well, really not so bad. We’re going to the Isotopes game at 7:00. After all, the humidity is just 6%.

And it’s even better if you think of the temperature in celsius. Just 37.8º.

  1. Today it reached 100º at Santa Fe airport, an all-time record high (though records have only been kept there for 28 years).

  2. I was up at 4:30 yesterday. Had my coffee and then climbed up on the roof to set-up my cooler. I have an appointment for next Thursday (first I could get) but decided it was just too hot to wait. I was at Home Depot at 6:15 with about 30 other people doing the same thing. Only took me a couple of hours (because, believe it or not, I actually did it right and cleaned it, etc… unlike the plumber people I PAID to do that last year) and I was cool for most of the day. Thank goodness for 7% humidity.
Cooler is workin’ great. In fact, I’m a little chilly this morning.
Nothing like when I lived in Tucson!!!
    Stay cool, man!

  3. I just love it when my neighbors are out at 4:30 working on their roofs. We don’t have lawns in my neighborhood, so no mowers, but I have heard leaf blowers well before the crack of dawn. A good warning shot or two seems to work.

I’d be careful Natalie. Lots of your neighbors are carrying firearms. 🙂

(I did my cooler at around 9 am. Fortunately, it’s on a slab on the ground, none of that roof climbing for me. This morning at 9:40 it’s 90 outside and 74 inside.
