Strunz & Farah

I enjoy Strunz & Farah very much, but I find them completely different from Rodrigo y Gabriela. Both I suppose play a sort of fusion, but Strunz (Costa Rican by birth) & Farah (Iranian) are jazz artists. The Mexican couple are rock stars.

  1. I’ve been a huge fan of them since the early 90’s. My favorite tune of theirs is “Americas.” It’s a stunning tour-de-force of the art of steel string and nylon string guitar duets.

Another duet of interest is Willie & Lobo. Their style leans more to traditional Flamenco, but is still a fusion.

I also like Bruce Becvar, although his style is a little more pop-oriented. His tune “Istanbul” is pretty nice.

Santoo Govi also plays some beautiful modern Flamenco guitar.
