There is a reason why they call the area at the top of Sandia Crest the “Electric Forest.”

A few years ago, back when I was making military documentaries, I spent a morning at CIA headquarters in Virginia. Along the bar edge of the parking lot was the most extensive and bizarre assortment of antennas and dishes I had ever seen, pointing every which way.
You weren’t at the time, allowed to bring cell phones into the buildings, so I casually tossed my fully charged phone into the trunk of the rental car and went in for my appointment. A couple of hours later I came out and retrieved my phone. It was 100% drained of power, dead as can be. Apparently, the intense radio traffic and electromagnetic radiation in that parking lot convinced the phone that it was simultaneously in about a hundred conversations at once. It took 24 hours to charge the thing back up.
