The Duhks Camptown Races was a brilliant addition. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that one myself. I love it when it comes up while I’m driving. I often repeat it.
The Duhks Ol’ Cookpot is one I love even more.
High energy stuff!
LaGrange is a better driving song.
Ahhowhowhow.
La Grange. Definitely.
You go ahead. I’ll walk.
I’m organizing the Cary Grant music for you Tom. I’ll send it to you on an 8-track tape. 🙂
You mock, but 8 tracks are coming back. Just try to prop up a wobbly keg on the side of a hill with an iPod. Just try.
There’s some good music in the mix but if it were Pandora I would be hitting the “do not play this artist again” button a lot. Sorry, but it does say Leave a Comment up there.
I don’t want to be too defensive — especially to a couple of guys who think Iowa City is cool — but it is top-down, open highway road trip music — and not sipping some prissy wine sitting by the fire reading poetry to each other music.
Iowa City is cool, and “I Love a Rainy Night” by Eddie Rabbit is one of the stupidest songs ever recorded. I mean, it’s not “Billy, Don’t Be a Hero” stupid, but it’s in the same Zip Code.
If “I Love a Rainy Night” is your best shot I’m mortally wounded.
BTW “I Love a Rainy Night” is on the list because I remember it from a long road trip, probably driving across Iowa some rainy night.
I only picked that one because the John Denver seemed too easy.

Touché.
I almost forgot to mention “Hard Luck Woman” by Mason Proffit. Truly a classic.
