“Rep. Joe Wilson’s 2010 opponent has received more than $100,000 in contributions overnight.”
Reported by TPM.
Wilson is the a-hole congressperson who shouted “You lie” at the President of the United States last night. Oh, and BTW, the President was correct and Wilson was wrong as well as rude.
What’s more interesting is the ratio of money Joe Wilson has received from PACs and corporations ($285,000), when compared to Miller’s take from individual’s during the past 18 hours (as I write, $400,000 from 11,000 individuals):

I just read the following from an AP article:
National attention from the heckling episode has money pouring into Wilson’s campaign treasury and that of his 2010 Democratic challenger. Wilson had raised more than $700,000 since the incident as of Friday, according to the National Republican Congressional Committee. His opponent, Rob Miller, had received more than $1 million from 25,000 donors nationwide, said his campaign manager, Lindsay Zoeller.
So it appears the money vote is still against his outburst.
The whole incident is indicative of the fact that the Republicans seem to have distilled their platform down to the single desire to pour sand in the Democrat’s vaseline.
I’m convinced they aren’t afraid that health care reforms will not work and will be widely unpopular but that they are terrified that they will ultimately work and be widely popular.
