The driver, her daughter and three girl cousins were killed in this formerly red minivan. The driver’s son is in critical condition. Three people were killed in other car. The minivan was going the wrong way on the Taconic State Parkway north of New York City.
Excuse me if I fail to see God’s plan in this.

I’m sorry, I’m just having trouble getting past this one since I read about it yesterday. The four children killed were 2, 5, 7 and 9. The other 5-year-old is in critical condition. It appears the driver may have been going in the wrong direction for two miles. She told her brother (father of three of the victims) she didn’t feel well earlier in the day.
There is no plan.
There is no god.
People are responsible for their own actions.
Others may suffer (die) when people act irresponsibly.
The woman driver, mother of two and aunt of three children in the car, had three times the legal blood alcohol limit (0.19) and traces of marijuana — “Ms. Schuler’s level of blood alcohol was equivalent to about 10 drinks”. She had a bottle of Absolut in the minivan.
Four children, three adults in the other vehicle, and Ms. Schuler were killed. Her five-year-old son was the sole survivor.
Apparently, there was no one around to stop this woman from driving with “the equivalent of about 10 drinks” in her system, let alone from piling five kids in the van with her. How incredibly irresponsible and tragic. You have to wonder, was this typical behavior on her part? (People who consume that much alcohol at once tend to be chronic drinkers.) And, if so, why were the kids ever entrusted to her at all? I can’t imagine the state of shock all the families must be in from a sudden and senseless loss like that.
