I’m waiting for the list of 100 Essential Kentucky Books. OK, maybe the Three Essential Kentucky Books, and one of them would be the Racing Form.
Well, if people have to make lists, at least I found that to be a much more intriguing list. I was happy to see A Prayer for Owen Meany on there, especially so near the top. (The book was so much more than the movie portrayed–in fact, John Irving was very upset with the movie and the outrageous liberties they took with the story.) I expected to see his book The Cider House Rules there instead, but Owen Meany is better, at least in my opinion.
I was personally thrilled with Make Way for Ducklings, Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel, andThe Very Hungry Caterpillar.
And still we can’t get away from Catcher in the Rye.
