Ahh, finally
Someone addresses WHY pilots were / are paid worth so much. Despite the airlines going after salaries like rabid dogs, and despite a ticket buying public unable to spend a dollar more on better service; the MANDATORY skills and training pay off yet again. It is a cost of doing business that is level to all airlines, you have to train the pilot. The public will never see the hours in the simulators that made this event possible. But they MUST pay for it.
The FAA regulations provide the basement below which pilot training cannot go, despite the airlines cost-saving measures of hiring younger pilots and discarding older ones.
Now lets get some decent regulation and personnel back into the FDA, the CDC, the EPA….maybe even the SEC?
