Best line of the day, so far

“I don’t really go see movies. I did see High School Musical 3, but that was [niece] Kiley’s birthday party. Before that I can’t remember the last one I saw. Maybe Horton Hears a Who?”

  1. I’m glad you thought this was funny…but I wasn’t joking. I don’t really go out to movies. Too expensive, too crowded, too hard to get a babysitter. I prefer Netflix, microwave popcorn and our big TV.

Though I did remember that I also saw Sex and the City in the theater last summer. How’s that for a juxtaposition?

  2. Me neither, Jill. And I was a film major in college the first time around. It makes me sad sometimes because I love the culture of the theater, but as you said, too hard to get a babysitter, and too expensive anymore. I have fantasies that involve leaving work in the middle of the day and playing hookie, but it never actually happens. We do manage the drive in a couple of times a year because we can just throw sleeping bags in the back of the truck, get a pizza and take the kids, but then you’re seeing a double feature of kids movies…not that I’m complaining about kids movies, because I’m not, but an R rated film every once in a while would be a nice respite. The last adult movie I saw was Quantum of Solace on my anniversary. Ahhh, Daniel Craig. And on that note, now I’m going to need a moment alone.

  3. Aimlsrdhd must have forgotten that her aunt recently moved back to Southern Arizona, and she would be a willing babysitter for such darling little ones every now and then! Aimlsrdhd only needs to ask. 😉
