IE be damned

Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of web sites are crashing in Internet Explorer due to something the statistics counter SiteMeter did. I have removed SiteMeter from NewMexiKen, at least for now.

But my question to you is, why are you using Internet Explorer? It’s a non-compliant, crappy piece of software — and unsafe to boot. There are better choices for FREE.

Try Firefox or Safari (including Safari for Windows).

  1. It just feels vaguely ironic: I can remember when none of the cool sites worked in Firefox, and now there are web designers who are forgetting to test with IE? Bad web designers, no cookie. (I’ve been using Firefox since .9, I think, and run it on Ubuntu Linux on an AMD64 machine, so I really have the ugly duckling system here. Nevertheless, I rarely encounter a web-site anymore that doesn’t work with my setup.)

  2. Indeed NewMexiKen has been opening very slowly today. I assume the problem is with the hosting service but they claim innocence.
