  1. I’ve been impressed with how much actual sports coverage has been included on the NBC telecasts. There seems to be much less time devoted to the “up close and personals.”

The range of sports on NBC in prime time is admittedly limited. But the less-popular sports have been well represented on the daytime broadcasts and on the other network channels.

I think your griping indicates you haven’t really been watching.

  2. I plead guilty.

But I also remember sports on television before Roone Arledge decided the audience preferred human drama to athletic competition — and decided who are favorites were for us.
