As some newer readers have chimed in lately about reposting older entries, I thought I’d mention Star gazing. It remains the most commented post ever here at NewMexiKen with 39.
So, who is the most famous person you’ve spoken with? And who is the most famous person you’ve seen in person? And what is the most famous/notorious event/performance you have witnessed?
No rules. Whatever you’d like to brag (?) about.
New comment thread starts here.
Hmm.
Most notorious event was probably 11th row behind home plate when Barry Bonds hit homerun number 73 in the 2001 season. That was the ball that became the subject of controversy later over who owned it.
I remember it in fine detail. It was the last day of the season. The Giants were out of the post-season race. It was a warm day. Barry in the on-deck circle smiling at his daughter and laughing. Calm. Relaxed. He stepped to the plate and after a couple pitches, he LAUNCHED that historic shot.
Two seasons later I actually got to shake his hand…
Thinking….not sure but he might also be the most famous person I’ve ever met.
My true goal is to shake Willie Mays hand (it could happen at Spring Training some day, he’s always there.)
Let’s see…
I shook the hand of Ernie Banks and B.B. King.
I witnessed QEII lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns.
I was at the base of the Washington Monument on July 4, 1976.
I once ate dinner with Pat Day sitting directly to my right.
I ate at a restaurant with James Taylor sitting at the next booth.
Oh yeah, I was at the wedding of Tom (Functional Ambivalent). That takes the cake!
A couple of weeks ago Mrs. A and I went out to a frenchy restaurant right here in Kentucky and saw William Shatner. You know, he’s only 18 inches tall. Hopped right up in the chair without help, though.
