88º F. 5% humidity.
Five.
BTW, yesterday morning (June 12) was the earliest sunrise of the year here (5:52 AM MDT). The latest sunset of the year will be June 28th or 29th (8:25 PM MDT). The longest day of 2008 is June 20th (14h 31m 28s).
The solstice is June 20th at 5:59 PM MDT (23:59 UTC).
How are you measuring humidity?
I think that 5% is unreasonably low.
I lick my finger then count how long it takes to dry — 5 seconds equals 5%. Isn’t that how everyone measures humidity?
Or I use an instrument from Oregon Scientific.
One of the above in any case.
BTW, the nearest “official” weather station to Casa NewMexiKen is Desert Ridge Middle School, about 3 miles and 500 feet down slope from me. Here are the conditions there at just past 6PM. (I’m reading 6% humidity right now.)
Sorry.
I should have looked before I posted. The humidity at the airport is 5% right now.
At my house on the west side my meter reads 25% right now. (6:23 pm)
You near the Rio?
It’s up to 8% at Casa NewMexiKen; a swamp. 🙂
We’re about 3.5 miles from the river.
I just realized that I don’t know if my meter is measuring inside or outside the house. Just based on my reading of humidity I’m beginning to suspect its measuring inside.
We’re from California where humidities under 20% are unheard of. That’s why I asked.
You also asked because you were sure he was wrong and you’ll take any opportunity to, as obnoxiously as possible, challenge anything on this site…even something as innocuous as a weather report.
At least for once you later acknowledged that you didn’t know what you were talking about.
I should explain to those that don’t know that most homes and many businesses in Albuquerque use evaporative coolers. The coolers do raise the humidity inside.
Currently, just before 8PM, 25 minutes before sunset, it’s 81º and 7% humidity. Inside it’s 26% humidity.
I’m not certain if it is still true, but at one time the record for lowest humidity in the U.S. was 2% recorded on several occasions in both Tucson, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
According to our weather station, it is 11 percent humidity here right now.
Double digits! Unfathomably humid!
