What was the worst pick for vice president?
Al Gore picking Joe Lieberman?
Walter Mondale picking Geraldine Ferraro?
(Thomas Jefferson didn’t actually pick Aaron Burr.)

Don’t forget Dan I-can’t-spell-for-sh*t Quayle. The Murphy Brown thing? He should be on one of those where are they now shows.
Don’t forget Ross Perot picking the old Admiral. I can’t even remember his name; I just remember his constant befuddledness. “Who am I? Why am I here?”
Dan Quayle, hands down. Even all these years later, a plausible explanation for his nomination has not surfaced. I, personally, think President GHW Bush had a crush on him.
And it’s Admiral Stockdale, there, Beth. I will not stand for the ridiculing of the “old admiral,” who was absolutely an American hero even if he was not much of a media politician. Read about my encounter with him here.
Ken, you tell Beth what a big meanie I am. That’ll straighten her out.
When I read Beth’s comment yesterday Tom I remembered your fine piece on Stockdale. I should have linked to it and I’m glad you did.
Lincoln’s pick of Andrew Johnson wasn’t really a standout choice was it?
But Spiro T. Agnew is the worst recent pick. You may remember he had to resign and plead no contest to criminal charges in Maryland stemming from kickbacks when he was governor. Nixon may not have been a crook, but his vice president was.
OK, I stand corrected, sort of. He was a great man and an American hero, but he was not a great pick for VP, and that was the question. Dan Quayle, however, was worse.
