  1. I haven’t lived there (or visited) in moons, but Coronet is the best pizza ever. It’s all the way uptown, though, on W 112th and B’way – Columbia territory. H&H Bagels on W 88th and B’way and then Zabars right across the street -can’t go wrong. The new MoMa is supposed to be pretty awesome. The Museum of Natural History is great, too. So many options…Just walking around the city I’m sure will be a treat!

  2. The Staten Island Ferry is a terrific tour of the harbor, and you don’t have to wait in line the way you do for the tour boats. Bryant Park at 42nd and 6th (a block from Times Square) was the subject of the movie “Panic in Needle Park,” but is now a wonderful oasis with lots of tables for picnic lunches. The buildings all around it have a full New York menu of stand-up food that you can bring to the park and eat sitting down. And Inoteca on the lower east side (Ludlow and Rivington) is an incredibly hip restaurant in an achingly hip neighborhood that has an extensive wine list that I found utterly and completely mystifying. When I asked for the wine guy to come translate, up stepped a tattooed 25-year old with pierced everything dressed in a black t-shirt and black jeans. I have never in my whole life met anyone who knew his list as cold as that kid knew his list. I described wines I liked and he brought a bottle of white and a bottle of red that were perfect, and neither one of them was over $50. I would definitely hit Inoteca.

  3. I do believe the Staten Island Ferry is free now, too. It certainly was worth the 5ยข each way I paid the first time I took it in the 1960s.

The New York Public Library is worth a walk-around if nothing more.

Over at Annette’s blog, Raymond mentioned taking in the Letterman show. The Daily Show is done in New York too, I believe.

And there are Macy’s stores everywhere now, but there’s only one that’s actually on 34th Street. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Famous Ray’s. Or Original Famous Ray’s. Or Famous Original Ray’s.

Ok, any pizza place with “Ray” in the name.

  5. No matter what you do, NYC is truly an amazing place. I liked driving down 5th Ave. with tons of traffic on a Sunday, only to go one block over and find no traffic.

Go to the site of the WTC, it will overwhelm you.

Pizza galore, but if you want kosher NYC, go to the 2nd Ave. Deli.

    I’m jealous.
