McCain’s oldest child is not Sidney. Sidney, his daughter is third in line and born in September, 1966. She is the oldest born to John and Carol.

Sidney Ann (1966). Born to John and Carol
Meghan (1984). Born to John and Cindy.
John Sidney (1986). Born to John and Cindy.

Michelle Obama was born in January, 1964.
The two “short” candidates are about the same height.
I had meant to write “oldest daughter” (to match Michelle Obama’s gender) and for some reason wrote “oldest child” instead without thinking through that it changed the question. Thanks for the correction.
