NewMexiKen read sometime back that during the Civil War some northern newspapers, when uncertain as to the reliability of dispatches sent by correspondents at the front, resorted to a standard headline that read:
Important, If True
Seems to me that pretty much applies across the board to cable news these days.
For a second, I thought you wrote, “I read sometime back during the Civil War…” and I was going to say, I know you’re a grandpa but somehow I didn’t think you were quite *that* old.
I agree with the thought. I’m wary of getting my news from any of the cable channels. Well, except for the Daily Show on Comedy Central.
One of my great, great grandfathers served in the union army.
