Appalachian State is in Boone, North Carolina.
The Mountaineers won the I-AA national football championship in 2005 and 2006, so today’s upset is not totally inexplicable. They beat #5 Michigan at Ann Arbor 34-32.
I wish I could have seen this game on TV. Every time I saw the score on the ticker on ESPN, I couldn’t believe it. It’s nice to see the underdog in these powerhouse vs I-AA games win once in a while.
I guess the Appalachian State vs Michigan game was no upset.
Having watched the Oregon game today, I am surprised that the Wolverines scored 32 against The Mountaineers.
