Earlier today there was a loud boom that rattled my windows. I’ve since learned that it was a “controlled” explosion at Sandia National Laboratories about 15 miles away. Be assured we were told, it’s perfectly safe.
I don’t know about you but NewMexiKen hates it when there are ‘splosions at the place where they store nuclear weapons.
Yeah…that is a bit unnerving.
I always hated it when they were testing the missile systems. It’s not fun to see rocket contrails in the sky……and not know why.

As a kid my dad worked at Sandia and we’d go swimming out there at Kirtland. I always *hated* it when the fighter planes would take off and go sonic boom. Can’t explain why, it always made me mad.
I heard and felt that as well. It was a bit unnerving.
Though I am kind of used to it, as anyone who ever lived in Socorro is because of the explosions at “M” Mountain.
