Tiny bits of protein extracted from a 68-million-year-old dinosaur bone have given scientists the first genetic proof that the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex is a distant cousin to the modern chicken.
Puts those dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets into a new perspective, doesn’t it?
It also gives validation to that old (at least 1984) adage: “Tastes like chicken.”
Next thing you know, we’ll find out there really is a Jurassic Park where they are growing little dino-burgers for future generations.
Gives new Jurassic-like meaning to, “Here we are, trapped in the amber of the moment. There is no why.”
