How about a little conversation folks?

Did you like the My Generation video? How about that Pearl? What coffee do you like? How have the “best lines” stacked up lately? Any crazy business processes you’ve dealt with? Any significant birthdays I’ve missed? How’s Marcia Brady look, better or worse than you’d expect? Read any of the Pulitzer winners? Plan to? Think you’d survive 35 years in solitary confinement?

Well, this blog feels like solitary confinement to me lately.

And my great fear is that some time soon I will end up here.

  1. Um… sorry.

LOVED the My Generation video. Sent it to my older sister and it made her day. I think she’s approaching your generation, NMK. The ‘best lines’ have been pretty okay. Not great. I’m biased, tho. I think they all should be from FA. You missed my birthday 2.3 weeks ago, but I won’t hold that against you. Maureen Mac looks pretty darn good. But then, I look better than I did in 1970 too. I’m an avid reader but have yet to read any of the Pulitzers. Recommend one. After living in a house with five males (2 of them canine) for so many years, solitary confinement doesn’t sound all that bad.

  2. I LOVED both the MY Generation video (my favorite part is the old ladies trashing the guitars like Pete Townshend) and The Pearl video (but I am a HUGE Will Farrell fan – he could read the phone book…..). I also, as you know, am an avid reader and I haven’t read any of them either. But I usually make an attempt to. I REALLY think Maureen needs to leave the 70s outfits behind. The dress could have been ok but the boots? REALLY!! Depending on work/children/and general stress level – I would welcome solitary confinement. I am facetious of course. That is more than I can imagine. As you also know, I talk ALOT!

  3. I loved both video’s.
Being that I am a certified barista and all… I can be a bit of a coffee snob. However, I cannot stand Starbucks coffee and that “dark” roast taste. I like just about anything that is fresh, local, fresh ground, and medium roast. It really is about what you put into that coffee. I’m light with a touch of raw sugar. My favorite way to make coffee is in one of those aluminum, Italian espresso makers. The water is steamed up through the grounds and it makes for one heck of a strong cuppa.
I stop by constantly for your Best Lines. 🙂
In this day and age, I cannot, for the life of me, understand why some businesses still don’t take credit/debit cards. Of course, I know this adds a cost to the bottom line but I just don’t carry around that much cash. It seriously chaps me when a business takes checks but can’t (won’t) take my debit card. What’s up with that?
Yesterday, our previously six year old, turned seven. 🙂
Marcia looks road hard and put away wet leathery.
I’ve read Cormac McCarthy and love him. I haven’t read his latest but intend upon hitting the bookstore soon.
I would go absolutely bonkers if I was in solitary confinement for one year…
I love me some alone time but, oh hell no, I’d be nuts!
Awe… you are feeling a bit solitary and confined in this blog?
It’s time for a Flying Star or Baskin Robbins or any other yummy, coffee joint run!!
    🙂

  4. Loved Pearl! It is just so wrong- but funny as all get out. My Generation was good. Our group may not look quite as attractive rocking out to “Louie, Louie”. It would sure be fun to try.
Best lines and Birthdays are great.
Books- I have vowed to re-read the classics. Your recommendations are appreciated, and I will try some of the P. Prizers.
Just contemplating solitary confinement makes me itch. Could I have music, books, pillows, good tea? Doubtful, but I could write a book, or perfect an invention- I’d have enough time.
