Historian Doris Kearns Goodwin to Jon Stewart. Stewart was seeking confirmation for what he had said to former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton the previous night about Lincoln seeking varying points of view. Bolton had claimed Stewart was wrong about Lincoln.
Bolton typifies much of the Bush Administration: Often wrong, never in doubt.

You’re so right about the “never in doubt” part. That’s the most striking part of the exchange – how Bolton just peevishly corrects Stewart (and repeats his incorrect assertion twice) without even a flicker of, “maybe you know something I don’t.”
I suppose we can consider this the final proof that William and Mary offers a better education than does Yale (another fact that was never in doubt).
