This ad for Missouri U.S. Senate candidate Claire McCaskill with Michael J. Fox has caused an outpouring of disgusting drivel from medical experts such as Rush Limbaugh:
“He is exaggerating the effects of the disease,” Limbaugh told listeners. “He’s moving all around and shaking and it’s purely an act. . . . This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn’t take his medication or he’s acting.”
You decide whether Fox is sincere.
They all got their medical degrees back during the Terri Schiavo mess. And, of course Rush knows a thing or two about medication.
The odd thing is — if you talk to someone who’s actually been to medical school — doesn’t the DISEASE cause a person to kind of “freeze up?” I thought it was the MEDICATION that causes the symptons/side effects (the uncontrollable motion) you see in that video; it frees the sufferer from the rigidity caused by the disease, but leaves them unable to control the swaying, etc.
Is this not correct?
I need to check with my mad scientist friends at Baylor College of Medicine, but I read something along these lines in a article this morning as well, so I don’t think I’m off-base.
Of course, I’m sure Rush has spent plenty of time reading the PDR and knows his presciption meds backwards and forwards, so who am I to call foul, right?
There’s a special room in hell waiting for that evil, repulsive man. And hopefully, Satan is looking forward to making Rush his SPECIAL girlfriend.
You are correct about the medication causing the shaking MildChild.
