Thirteen Moons

Louis Menand has written a review of Charles Frazier’s new novel, Thirteen Moons. Frazier you will remember is the author of Cold Mountain and Menand’s review discusses that novel as well.

If you’ve ever tried to read Cold Mountain, as NewMexiKen has, and failed, as NewMexiKen has, you will find this review quite interesting.

  1. While certainly not the greatest book I ever read I did enjoy “Cold Mountain”, the book but not necessarily the film. Frazier was able to describe places and people to my satisfaction. I will probably buy “Thirteen Moons”.
Hopefully it will transport me for a few hours, to a different time, a different place, to meet different people.

  2. Hello Ken–
Boy, I was relieved to find that someone else couldn’t get through “Cold Mountain.” Too many “ropy harls” efor me. Also, thanks for the tip re the Feynman videos–that will be my husband’s birthday present.
