The MLB Ballparks Ranked 1-30

In a survey on SI.com, we asked readers to rank their hometown parks on a variety of criteria, from parking prices to the availability of restrooms to the quality of concessions. We also asked for opinions on what makes the park special — or disappointing.

Number One: Angel Stadium (which was an even better deal back when we used to go for $2.50, $1.25 for the kids).

30th: RFK.

  1. I really enjoy the Rockies stadium. Going to a baseball game is ten times easier here in Denver than it ever was in Baltimore. While I’ll never be a Rockies fan, attending a game is a lovely way to spend an evening — you almost never experience a crowded stadium and parking/getting to the game is very easy (and inexpensive). And of course you can’t beat the weather.

  2. You can’t beat the number of home runs you’ll see in Denver either.

Jill and I saw a no hitter go to the bottom of the eighth inning last week. At first, we thought it was a boring game. Then, we realized how deep the no hitter was going. It was cool to watch each out as it moved through the game.

Then, the pitcher (an ex-Angel!) hit his first career home run. Unfortunately, that was the end of the no hitter. The first batter up in the ninth hit a single to left. We think the pitcher used “it” all up with the home run.

After that, Pujols hit a killer of a home run to left.

All in all, it wasn’t a bad day at Number 30, RFK.

  3. But we paid $12 to park in a crappy satellite lot and didn’t even bother to buy one of the $7 beers.

Just pointing out a couple of reasons it might be #30.
