Because they protect the quarterback’s blind side (if he’s right-handed).
This was such an interesting article in so many ways. On the one hand, it was immensely touching to read about someone who really needed help getting it, but on the other hand, my cynicism kept kicking in because it was all predicated on getting him into football.
On the subject of football, given that our Tampa QB is out for the season (at least) after having his spleen removed, it really underscores the need for good offensive tackles.
I thought everyone knew that.
