Ain’t it funny how a melody can bring back a memory,
Take you to another place and time,
Completely change your state of mind.
It’s also the birthday of Rosa Parks. The soul of the civil rights movement was born on this date in 1913.
Charles Lindbergh was born on this date in 1902.
And George Washington was elected the first President of the United States on this date in 1789 when all 69 electors voting cast their ballot for him. John Adams was second with 34, becoming Vice President. (Each elector had two votes.)
Lots of noted people celebrating birthdays today. One of my favorites is NewMexiken himself. Happy Birthday Son.
Happy Birthday!
Well, I thought NewMexiKen belonged on the birthday list, too. Perhaps he’s too humble to toot his own horn. Of course, he could be getting forgetful at his age 😉
Or maybe it’s just wishful thinking–who wouldn’t like to ignore birthdays and simply stay 29 forever (39 in Jack Benny’s case)?
Or, maybe he wanted to keep it a secret….
Regardless of the motivation behind the omission, Happy Birthday and Best Wishes, NewMexiKen! We love you and appreciate you every day of the year.
February fourth is the birthday of many greats – including you, NewMexiKen. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday from another of the tribe.
Do like I do and start counting backwards each year. It’s unlikely you’ll count it all the way back to the begining.
