Colorado’s Boundaries Should Change

Wash Park Prophet has a cool map of Colorado with eight hypothetical counties based on river drainage. John Wesley Powell was correct. The west should have been organized by water, not yardsticks.

Of course, a lot of Colorado should be part of New Mexico.

  1. Ken,

The map shows the river basin boundaries being used for Colorado’s Water Roundtables, set up by HB1177 – The Colorado Water for the 21st Century act (2006). I thought the biggest benefit of the legislation was the recognition of the basins as independent of political boundaries.
