Other than this I wouldn’t compare the two

But Richard Nixon did it, why not Al Gore?

(The “it” being: Serve as Vice President for 8 years, lose the Presidency in a stolen election, run and win 8 years later.)

New MexiKen, Richard Nixon was not wrongly deprived of the presidency. This is a myth that the Republican Party assiduously cultivated over many years to try to justify the crimes they have committed since. But articles appeared in Salon and in Slate some years ago detailing the Grand Jury investigation and other investigations that Nixon surrogates initiated– which found nothing. Plus, of course, one would have to show that there was fraud in *two* states, Illinois *and* Texas for it to have affected the outcome.

I wish that anyone who is not in complete thrall to the Republican cult would take the time to read those articles. Claiming that Nixon won is a libel against a man who was murdered and cannot defend himself. That it still goes on is a disgusting testament to the lingering moral illness of the Republican Party.
