The Freakonomics guys have a blog.
In case it’s new to you, Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything, was published this week by Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner.
Slate had two excerpts earlier this week: A Roshanda by Any Other Name and Trading Up, both fascinating.
“Today, nearly 30 percent of the black girls [born in California] are given a name that is unique among every baby, white and black, born that year in California.”
If I ran a television network, there would be a reality show built around the creative process used to name those 30%.
