“By 4 p.m. [Monday], 32.03 inches of rain had fallen in downtown Los Angeles since the season began July 1. That’s more than three times the normal total for the date, and almost eight times the amount that had fallen by this time last year.”

This Friday, Feb. 25, parts of NW Oregon/SW Washington (Portland, Vancouver, etc.) will break the all time record for the most consecutive days without rain in February, and there is still no rain in the forecast. I guess it went south for the winter along with the birds and whales.
In addition, during Nov.-Jan., usually our wettest time of year, there was less than half the normal rainfall, and snowpack in the Northern Oregon/Southern Washington Cascades is down to 19% of normal. In some places it was the 2nd driest winter on record, behind 1976-77.
I never thought I’d say it, but I wish CA, AZ, and NM would send us back our rain! Not that we haven’t marvelled at the winter sunshine and enjoyed every minute of the 60 degree days, but it will have an impact this summer. Surely you’re sick of it by now.
