How about health insurance? 91.3% of the people in Minnesota have private or public health insurance. 90.5% are coverd in Vermont; 89.9% in Hawaii.
At the other end, 20.4% of the people in Oklahoma are not covered. 20.6% of the folks in Louisiana lack coverage; 22.1% in New Mexico; 24.6% in Texas.
All states listed here.
Interesting that the states with the higest coverate went for Kerry and the lowest Bush. Why do the people in the worst covered states want the status quo?

Your second sentence implies that you think health insurance was the deciding issue for voters. I doubt that. But even were that so, could it not be possible that the 24.6% of people in Texas, for example, who do not have health insurance all voted for Kerry and the remaining 75.4% split their vote over other issues? I’m not arguing this is the case mind you. Maybe the 24.6% didn’t even vote. But there are too many variables for your generalization to be valid.
