An American Christian group is lobbying to have the whale reclassified as a fish, because that is how the animal is described in the story of Jonah. “the Bible is God’s own words,” says a spokesman for Concerned Christians for Education Reform. “If the Lord says the whale is a ‘great fish’, it’s a fish. Period.”
How can people that stupid exist?
The problem is that if the evangelicals admit that even one tiny statement in the bible is not literally true then it would be an admission that anything stated in the bible could be false.
Fran Gerbele, spokeswoman for Mrs. Paul’s, agreed:
“In fact, she said, whales make excellent fish sticks, because they have a high enough fat content to fry themselves.”
Meanwhile, the NPS has moved forward with it’s plan to erect 250 40-foot tall crosses all around the Devil’s Tower National Monument in Northeastern Wyoming.
Remember all you fundamentalists: Crabs are forbidden by Leviticus, Grasshoppers aren’t.
