  1. Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo`ole Remembering
Aloha Joe reminded me that: Israel Kamakawiwo’ole (IZ)was bigger than life, his music reaching out to Hawaiians encouraging them to take pride in their heritage and to love and understand everyone. He was a huge man whose larger spirit wrestled with his giant physical form, and finally escaped at the age of 38, when he died on June 26, 1997.

With the help of his brother he formed Makaha Sons of Ni’ihau. Their rich four-part vocal harmonies carried by Israel’s lead tenor. His uncle is Moe Keale. Both of which were neighborhood friends of Danny’s. Danny’s reference made to Iz’s songs.. Sings of Mountainous Waves (Men Who Ride Mountains), Over The Rainbow Blue Birds Sing.
