Thomas E. Dewey was born on this date in 1902. He was the unsuccessful Republican nominee for President in 1944 and 1948. NewMexiKen has a vague memory of visiting Albany as small child, touring the capitol, and actually sitting in Governor Dewey’s chair. (He wasn’t there.)
